One year ago, JCU long jumper Mike Minjock put himself in the national Top 3 with a 7.51 meter jump at the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in Claremont, California. On Thursday, he went above and beyond, literally, flying 7.61 meters (24-11.75) to place second in the country at the 2013 national outdoor meet, held this year at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  The jump, which was the first of his six tries, broke the aformentioned John Carroll record (7.51 meters).
